Weight-Loss Surgery Helps Cheryl Change Her Life

“My eating was out of control,” says Cheryl Jordan of Zionsville, and I was huge.”

At age 45, Cheryl weighed 260 pounds. She had been yo-yo dieting since her teen years. “I’d lose 20 pounds, then gain 30, binging on ice cream and other sweets.”

Cheryl was so ashamed of her size that she avoided mirrors. She finally realized that dieting alone wasn’t the answer. In 2003, she had laparoscopic weight-loss surgery performed by Richard Boorse, M.D., at Lehigh Valley Hospital's Weight Management Center.

Losing 135 pounds and making healthy choices have changed her life. “I eat better and exercise every day,” Cheryl says. “I feel younger and people tell me I look great! I want to stay this way.”
